About Contract Exhibition Services
How the Journey started
Contract Exhibition Services was formed by Giles Smith, who’s vision was to create an event and exhibition management company.
From leaving school, Giles worked for his father's caravan company in the town of Bawtry in South Yorkshire. He was tasked to organise and setup an exhibition stand for the company in 1984 at Harewood house in Leeds.
This gave him the idea of starting a small printing business which attended Championship Dog Shows and County events throughout the UK.
With his past knowledge of attending events as a exhibitor, and his knowledge the area of event management, Giles started Contact Exhibition Services in2001.
It soon became apparent that clients required a broader range of services, so the business adapted to a become a marketing support company covering call aspects of event and Instore marketing.
We’re a dedicated team
Today, Contract Exhibition Services is very much a family company, and includes Giles Brother, Mathew who's Joinery company helps build the Exhibition stands.
Event Managers include Brother-in-law David Rhimes and long time contractor Peter Wilson and Jim Coats who deliver, setup and manage stands at exhibitions and events throughout the UK.
We've had the pleasure of working for many clients over the years which include both large and small companies, marketing agencies and charitable organisations.
Our Marketing support services include Exhibitions, Events, Roadshows and Retail In-Store activities, and include the design, build, installation and management services.
Our services also include the design, build and installation of Business, Retail and Event signage, Printed Banners and the installation of Merchandising stands.
We are excited about our new service starting in 2021 which includes Poster painting and Picture framing for both companies and privet clients.

It’s time for change
We intend to be a leader, not a follower in the design and build of green and recycled exhibition stands
Over the years we’ve learnt from past experiences in attending events and exhibitions. We’ve created new, and very different ideas in the design and manufacture of retail and exhibition displays.
We addressed the the need for change, minimising the use of plastics and one off branding elements, We offer recycled old furniture and use sustainable wood in the manufacture of stands, plus stencilled branding alternatives and recyclable paper posters, printed graphics and picture framing alternatives.
We will also be offering a range of recycled cardboard stands and a really cool range of branded pallet collar designs for clients requiring green shel scheme and open space alternatives.
We created a range of unique mobile exhibition display trailers that are adaptable to all forms of events, enabling our clients to attend exhibitions without having to build one off exhibition stands that create large amounts of waste and expense.
